Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar Training
This event was hosted on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. Engaged Voters partnered with the Harris County Office of Election Administrator train volunteers for certification as Volunteer Deputy Registrars to help us register voters in Harris County.
Graduation Ceremony for Engaged Voters
This event was hosted on Thursday, May 18, 2023 to honor the participants of the Organizing Institute. We celebrated with a keynote speaker, Cimajie Best who brought words of inspiration to the attendees.
Advocacy Day at the Capitol
As part of our 2023 Organizing Institute, participants of the Institute visited the Texas State Capitol on April 14, 2023 to advocate for or against bills related to protecting and increasing young voters right and access to vote. Our organization visited with over 5 offices and spoke with legislators and/or their staff.
Lunch Packing for Star of Hope
This event was hosted on Saturday, February 18, 2023. Engaged Voters partnered with Community Cultivation, Inc. to sponsor lunches and help put together over 300 sack lunches.
Panel Discussion: Relevance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
This event was hosted on Monday, January 16, 2023 by the Houston Branch of the NAACP. Engaged Voters was a participant on the panel discussing the relevance of Dr. MLK, Jr. and how Engaged Voters is active today in doing the work he envisioned.
Election Day Party
This event was hosted on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Engaged Voters provided a space for voters to celebrate voting. The event was free to attend and included free food, drinks, hookah, and music.
Rides to the Polls
On Election Day 2022, Engaged Voters is partnered with Lyft to provide discounted rides to the polls in Southeast Houston and to the Engaged Voters Election Day Party.
Night Bike Ride to the Polls
This event was be hosted on Thursday, November 3, 2022. Engaged Voters partnered with Let's Do This Houston to participate in a Bike Ride around 3rd Ward which included a stop at Texas Southern University to vote. 20 people participated and at least half voted! Register Here!

October Volunteer Text Banking
This event was hosted on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Our team of staff and volunteers texted nearly 11,000 people within our target zip codes to ensure they have a voting plan before Early Voting and Election Day.
Voter Registration at Urban Social
This event was hosted on Saturday, October 8, 2022 in partnership with Every Dope Girl. We were able to register voters and get others to commit to voting in the upcoming election. Every newly registered voter and every voter who pledged to vote received a complimentary cocktail.
National Night Out
This event was hosted on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 across Harris County. Engaged Voters participated as a vendor to register and commit voters and provide ballot education at Sunnyside Park.
Teach In at Texas Southern University
This event was hosted on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Texas Southern University. Engaged Voters partnered with the organizaton, HER TXSU, to walk through the ballot with its members and to register and commit voters.
The Black Power Arts Celebration
This event was hosted on Friday, September 30th and Saturday, October 1st, 2022 at Riverside United Methodist Church, in partnership with playwright, ShaWanna Rivon. Engaged Voters participated as a vendor to register and commit voters and provide ballot education.
National Voter Registration Day
This event was hosted on Tuesday, September 20th. Engaged Voters hosted a Networking Social to register voters and celebrate voter registration. The event included voting trivia, food, music, and ballot education. Each attendee was required to be a registered voter to enter.
September Volunteer Text Banking
This event was hosted on Thursday, September 15, 2022. Our team of staff and volunteers texted nearly 11,000 people within our target zip codes to inquire whether they were registered to vote and to invite them to our Networking Social.
Teach In at New Life Temple Church
This event was hosted on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Engaged Voters partnered with the New Life Enrichment Center, to walk through the ballot with some of the seniors.
